Here are a few ideas for using one iPad in your classroom.
Mirror Your iPad
Let your students see what you see on your iPad by mirroring it to a projector. Once your have a way to mirror your iPad, you can demonstrate, create, assess with an app you have on your iPad. Here are two ways to mirror your iPad:

Classroom Management
Class Dojo:
A free digital tool that is designed to help with classroom management. It is compatible with an iPad and a PC to award and take away points for behaviors you can choose. Share behaviors reports automatically with parents every Friday with just an email address. It also has a tool within Class Dojo that allows you to choose students at random. -Have a student of the day give points (not take away) to students who are doing well -Have a student be in charge of random calling through Class Dojo -Show students their daily average and make goals -Give rewards and incentives to students who meet their behavior goals (for example Dojo-Opoly) Wireless Speakers:

Individual Student Use
- Use your iPad for differentiated instruction. Have students who are finished with their work early or struggling students go to an iPad and work on a skill of your choice through IXL, Ten Marks, or Raz-Kids.
- Have students complete an attendance question through Padlet or Stoodle when they walk in the door.
- Have students use Fotobabble to take a picture and explain what is happening in the picture.
- If you have Apple TV/Reflector have students connect to share work they have completed.
Camera:
Use the camera on your iPad to take pictures of students during activities, take videos of presentations, then share them in a blog, newsletters, or on Curriculum Night with parents.

Small Group Use: Pass Around the iPad ideas
Pick Me Buzzer App: $0.99
Put your iPad in the middle of a small group (up to 5 students) and use this to have students "buzz" in to answer a question. Use any app and have students pass around the iPad to add to a class project. Storylines, Toontastic, and PuppetPals are great apps to pass around to contribute to a story.

Kidblog:
Start a class blog and pick a student a day/week/month to update the blog. You can also create individual student blogs that students can use to share work and ideas. |
Centers/Stations
- Use the iPad for a listening center. Download Treasures stories (from CD that came with the series) or other stories through iTunes/iBooks for students to listen to and create a skill worksheet they will need to complete with the center.
- Have students take turns during centers using the iPad for activities like Edmodo, Raz-Kids, IXL or other apps you choose. Have a timer near the iPad so students can start it when it is their turn.
- Have students record themselves reading a story with the camera, then listen back for fluency, share with a reading buddy, or share with parents at conferences.
- Have students use Sock Puppets, Tellagami, or Toontastic to retell a story or explain an idea during centers. Be sure to let students share their creations at some point.
- Download Free Children's books in iBooks. Students can read during DEAR time or during centers.
- Create your own lessons on Educreations or Showme for students to view at a center.
